Can’t wait to share some of my hair tips 🙂 I’ve done a post like this before “5 Tips you need to know for healthier hair”, but I thought I would do another since I get so many questions about my hair (and these are new tips I hadn’t mentioned in my other post). Here are the hair tips I’m living by:
Hair Tip 1: Only wash your hair a couple times a week. I know a lot of people have said “but my hair is so greasy”. It will be for the first couple of days, but use a lot of dry shampoo and it will get better over time! It’s just like skincare, the less you strip your skin and hair of it’s natural oils, the less your body is triggered to over produce oils. I actually find that my hair is easier to manage when it’s not squeaky clean; the dry shampoo gives it a lot of body, too! I’ve linked my favorite dry shampoos from all price points:
Hair Tip 2: Use a straightener instead of a curling iron. My hair holds curl a lot longer and it’s much smoother when it’s curled with a flat iron. I have naturally curly hair, so I have to straighten the top anyways…using a flat iron also saves me a lot of time. Curling your hair with a flat iron can be tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it before! My favorite tutorials here & here. I also recommend only using a flat iron that is ceramic plated and 1-1 1/4 inches. My favorite straightener is the T3 Micro Luxe.
Hair Tip 3: If you want long hair, but don’t want wait… listen here. 6 month trims are a must for healthy hair, but sometimes I have to cut more off than I bargain for. If I want super long hair, I go to my Irresistible Me hair extensions. I wear these for my photo shoots and whenever I want to take my look to the next level. These extensions are super soft (amazing quality), match my hair perfectly and they are very affordable! I currently use the The ‘Silky Light Brown” in 18′.
Hair Tip 4: Healthy Hair starts from within. This goes with your skin too. What you put into your body will ultimately reflect in your hair, skin and nails. I like to eat a plant based diet, drink a lot of water (I drink half my body weight in ounces a day) & take supplements. Right now I am loving Nurtafol. I take as directed, which is 4 capsules a day for maximum results. They are for thicker, longer, healthier hair – sign me up! I started taking Nurtafol in January 2017 (I cut 6in off my hair) and I wanted to re-grow it really healthy; I’ve seen great results mixing all the tips I have given you today!
