Can’t wait to share some of my hair tips 🙂 I’ve done a post like this before “5 Tips you need to know for healthier hair”, but I thought I would do another since I get so many questions about my hair (and these are new tips I hadn’t mentioned in my other post). Here are the hair tips I’m living by:
Hair Tip 1: Only wash your hair a couple times a week. I know a lot of people have said “but my hair is so greasy”. It will be for the first couple of days, but use a lot of dry shampoo and it will get better over time! It’s just like skincare, the less you strip your skin and hair of it’s natural oils, the less your body is triggered to over produce oils. I actually find that my hair is easier to manage when it’s not squeaky clean; the dry shampoo gives it a lot of body, too! I’ve linked my favorite dry shampoos from all price points:
Hair Tip 2: Use a straightener instead of a curling iron. My hair holds curl a lot longer and it’s much smoother when it’s curled with a flat iron. I have naturally curly hair, so I have to straighten the top anyways…using a flat iron also saves me a lot of time. Curling your hair with a flat iron can be tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it before! My favorite tutorials here & here. I also recommend only using a flat iron that is ceramic plated and 1-1 1/4 inches. My favorite straightener is the T3 Micro Luxe.
Hair Tip 3: If you want long hair, but don’t want wait… listen here. 6 month trims are a must for healthy hair, but sometimes I have to cut more off than I bargain for. If I want super long hair, I go to my Irresistible Me hair extensions. I wear these for my photo shoots and whenever I want to take my look to the next level. These extensions are super soft (amazing quality), match my hair perfectly and they are very affordable! I currently use the The ‘Silky Light Brown” in 18′.
Hair Tip 4: Healthy Hair starts from within. This goes with your skin too. What you put into your body will ultimately reflect in your hair, skin and nails. I like to eat a plant based diet, drink a lot of water (I drink half my body weight in ounces a day) & take supplements. Right now I am loving Nurtafol. I take as directed, which is 4 capsules a day for maximum results. They are for thicker, longer, healthier hair – sign me up! I started taking Nurtafol in January 2017 (I cut 6in off my hair) and I wanted to re-grow it really healthy; I’ve seen great results mixing all the tips I have given you today! Updates later this year on my progress 🙂
I’m excited to share this fun look with you guys. I have been a bit busy lately and I’m hoping you all haven’t given up on me 🙂 With the beginning of the new year upon us, and starting a new job, I’ve been one busy girl! P.S. I was so dang cold taking these photos, I have really been hoping for some warmer weather/less windy days so I don’t have to hold my hair down in every photo!
Anyways, who else is ready for Spring!?… more sunshine, time in the day and of course, new handbags! 😉 I wanted to share this Cocovann purse I was gifted. It has amazing quality and the perfect color for Spring. Their recent collection has me needing to buy more purses! With classic styles and a fantastic price point, makes the perfect recipe for your favorite everyday handbag. I’m also wearing my favorite Franco Sarto booties, I’m such a neutrals girl that between the caramel colored bag and booties, I’m set!

In my new monthly series, “Things I’m loving”, I will be sharing my monthly favorites from all aspects of my life. This month featuring: wellness, fashion, fitness and finances! Find out some favs below:
Mental, Physical & Spiritual Health are top of mind for 2017! Here are some things I’m loving in each area below 🙂
Calm app – this app is great for mental health. It teaches you to breath, relax & soak in the moment! Highly recommend.
Devotionals – I’m currently reading “New Morning Mercies” – it really helps me get started for the day and focus on what’s important.
Nike Training App – Since I’m not spending money on the gym, because of my penny pinching, I’ve been using the free Nike Training App, I love it so far! I haven’t missed a day since I’ve started (this month…).
Daily Harvest Smoothies – A coworker of mine gets these fresh, and all natural smoothies delivered every month! They are amazing, and taste so good. I recently tried this one in the picture.
Shoes:Nike $55, Leggings:Zella (similar) $54, Head Phones: Ankit
I’ve had some big financial goals set for myself. Dave Ramsey has really taught me how to take control of my finances. I listen to the podcast daily and I also use envelope system. Has anyone else heard of him? Find out more about this program here.
Building my Wardrobe: I cleaned out my whole closet, only kept what I really wore/liked and it felt SO good. My closet feels a little naked…. But I plan on stocking it with only things I actually like. Check out my Pinterest where I found out just what staples I need 🙂
Bargain Hunting: I can’t buy everything consignment, like shoes for example. I found these Nikes for only $55 – so needless to say, even if I’m buying new, you know it probably won’t be full price! All my new favs below (All $50 or below):
It’s been sometime since I posted on Instagram as well as my blog. The time got away from me during the holidays and I took the extra time to spend with my family, be less on social media & really reflect on this past year and the new year.
I’m slowly easing back into blogging and really trying to be thoughtful about what I post 🙂 I want to post quality over quality because that’s what’s really important, don’t ya think!?
PS. Looking at these photos I took back in December are making me miss my long hair already! I’ve cut 6+ inches off and lightened it. I haven’t had my hair short since I was in like, 5th grade! AND it was freezing this day haha, can you tell by my face? 🙂
I would love to still connect with you all and keep in touch via Instagram. I’m still commenting and liking all your posts 🙂 come say hey and I’ll see next time on here when blogging bug hits me!
Ok, and let’s talk about this outfit really quick, I wear this sweater ALL the time. It’s only $25 dollars and it is so cozy/perfect for everyday. Also, I know I have had so many inquiries about these OTK boots for only $99 (they fit SO good – comfy and they are heeled but super easy to walk in). You can shop the rest of my outfit in the links below!
Tis’ the season! I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving & got some great deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Getting into the holiday spirit, I’ll be putting together some gift guide for you all! Today I’m sharing some “girly girl” gifts under $50 (psss most of these are on my gift list, too – you better believe I only pick out the best of the best for my readers).
Tula Discovery Kit: I recently did a collaboration with TULA and was able to try their products. I can honestly say that I love TULA! I’ve really do think the texture of my skin is better and smoother, the redness has gone down and my skin feels hydrated. I use the illuminating serum, daily moisturizer & eye cream.
Tabu Rose:I’m kind of snobby when it comes to perfume, so I was naturally skeptical to try something that wasn’t name brand. I ended up falling IN LOVE with this perfume. I get compliments all the time about the sent – it’s really light, soft and fresh.
Beanies:I just bought a ton of these beanies in different colors. They are super cute for the winter months and they keep you warm! You can bet that you will see me wearing pom-pom beanies all the time 😉
